The purpose of the EU – Waternet is to support the opportunities for Danish enterprises to participate in EU financed research and development projects. The Research Platform – Water, which is a part of Danish Water Forum, has obtained financial support to create this network from the Danish Agency for Science Technology and Innovation
The EU – Waternet focuses on innovation and research projects from identification of the problem and definition of research initiatives through pilot projects to final implementation in enterprises, utility companies or authorities. We seek to involve all relevant partners from universities, companies, utilities and others in the network activities.
We inform:
- The Danish water sector about European research activities and funding opportunities both the 7th EU framework program, and other EU research and development programs dealing with water, environment and climate change.
- About the European technology platform Water Supply and Sanitation Technology Platform – WSSTP in order to ensure a strong Danish participation in the implementing consortiums and the pilot projects to be carried out by the WSSTP.
- The European researchers and other possible partners about Danish water research competences and interests in participating in European research projects.
The Research Platform - Water and the EU - Waternet have elaborated a vision for Danish Water Research and the Danish Water sector up until 2015 - Vision 2015. The vision (in Danish) will currently be revised and updated.
The EU – Waternet is organized as a part of the Danish Research Platform – Water and its implementation group consists of the following persons:
